The band was created in 2014 by the two brothers Octave and Léonard Marlin. But the band has been officially active since 2018/2019.

About The Name...

« "Dawn Spark" means an emerging light. In relation to what we defend in our songs but also the feeling of never being completely stable. We could relate the name of the band to the simple word "hope", this is also in connection with the cleavage of the generations constantly in search of knowing what is really our place in the world. Existential questions in other words. Dawn Spark is the raw expression of all felt or repressed desires. »

Anecdote(s)

“1st anecdote : During the creation of the eponymous title of our EP “ Break away ”, Octave and I (Léonard) had really struggled to achieve it (too close I imagine from reality), at least a few years had passed before to really concretize this title, the text is intimate to us, it tells with what disgust we were rejected him and me of our family and it is a few days from our first concert with our real first big line up in 2018 at O ​​' Sullivans Backstage by the mill that we had finished, imagine our distress ahah! Good big bars of laughter! Especially since it was the first song in the set.

2nd anecdote : During our stay at the New Morning, which by the way is a magnificent hall with a really professional and competent technical team, we performed an impressive concert where people sang a capella our words, went on stage every minute of the show. The most impressive thing was that at certain times we did not have to play or sing, just to listen to the return of the public who sang without ever stopping! We still had to continue our song after a while ahah ... It was like the audience was doing the concert for us! "
