Baptiste Maier

His Story...

Baptiste Maier was born on December 9th, 1991 in Switzerland.

He first studied music in the Jazz High School Of Music in Bern and received a Perfomer's Bechelor Degree and a Composer's Master Degree.

He plays mainly drums and piano, but also can play the guitare and accordion. He's a composer, a lyricist and a DJ.

He plays in several bands :

Promethee, Oh My Deer, Buried Side, Jessanna, Science Of Disorder, EX-ROBOT, Chinzilla, Am Samstag, Deface The Sun.

Normally, He plays in group that are already formed. They ask him to join the formation because a musician left the band (that's the case for Promethee, Science Of Disorder, Buried Side, for example), or they ask him to be part of their new project (that's the case of Jessanna, Am Samstag, Oh My Deer, for example), or they ask him to fill in for a few gigs or for studio recording because a musician is not available for some time (that's the case for Henriette B, Tanya Barani, Polly Wants a Party, Murge, for example).

Jazz drummers like Brian Blade, Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, John Christensen, Mark Guiliana, Jojo Mayer, Eric Moore, Chris Dave, Julian Sartorius and many others.

Anecdote(s)

« I wrote too Oh My Deer's songs while taking care of my baby niece, where she was sleeping. These two songs are Le Papillon and Sucre-d'Orge. »
