Their Story

It all started in 2006 with the band Autoscan. Yury and Alex P. are former members and Alex B., Andrey and Anton joined the band in 2015, 2013 and 2014 respectively. At that time they played a slightly different kind of music, a kind of mix of DeathMetal, Emo and Punk.

They were one of the first Russian bands to play "Deathcore".

Later they opened for several big bands like Suicide Silence, Bring Me The Horizon, Norma Jear, Bury Your Dead and others.

In 2017, They decided to change their musical genre and started using English in their songs. So they made the decision to rebrand themselves and changed the name to "Blacklights".

Their first concert was on February 23, 2019 in Svoboda. Following this, they have opened for Norma Jean, While She Sleeps and even Motionless In White.

About The Name

This band name comes from what they call their characteristics. Their concerts consist of heavy, catchy melodies accompanied by a great light show, using invisible ultraviolet paint that lights up and transforms the musicians and the stage under certain waves of light.

"Black lights" is another name given to ultraviolet light.

Musical Influences

Their musical influences are Whiles She Sleeps, Beartooth, Slipknot and Sum41. Although each member listens to different artists and genres, these are the artists that inspired them for their album.
