His Story

Feather, whose real name is Anthony Stinson, was born on August 10th 1994. He started music in a very special way. He started with the video game "Guitar Hero", which he insisted his parents to play. He got hooked on it and soon wanted to try a real guitar.

"I must have had this when I was about 15, a really musty LTD with an amp that sounded... peculiar."

-Feather-

He quickly noticed the difference between playing and the real thing. At the same time, he discovered Joe Satriani's music which rocked him for a long time. He then aspired to play like him. So he picked up his guitar and didn't let go of it for the first year, but stopped when he found his progress too slow in his eyes.

He came back to the guitar about six months later, and hasn't stopped since. In addition, he is the only music lover in his family.

For a while, he just learned the pieces he liked, all by ear, because he couldn't stand wasting his time on fake scores.

One day, he tried composing and creating music by computer.

"I would say that from the age of 15 to 22 it was more of an exploration, knowing what kind of sound I liked, what sounds spoke to me the most. My compositions didn't make sense, but at least I was composing."

So he started taking private lessons with his teacher and now friend Sayasack Inthavong, a musician who has always inspired him.

In three years, he learned a lot, especially about music theory.

"It has brought me to where I am, not very far in terms of fame, but I think my music is really worth hearing."

Anecdote(s)

Feather is an artist that would be placed in the Progressive Metal category but he doesn't like this name because of the word "metal" that people too often associate with music that is harder than what it really is.

Feather's escape : first steps in writing so-called progressive music. Everything is homemade, and it allowed him to understand a lot of things.

Convalescence : first album, of which he is very proud. Many of his friends and musicians collaborated with him for this album.

Following this album, he had feedback from people very important to him like Chris Christodoulou, MattRach or Liam McLaughlin.

"I think it's an album that can appeal to both progressive metal fans and people who listen to more traditional music. There's a very soft, melodic side to it that can appeal to everyone."
