His Story

The Unbelievable Ginger is a multi-instrumentalist musician, composer, lyricist, rapper. He plays electric/acoustic guitar, bass, piano/synth, drums, and percussion. He also has the unofficial hats of sound engineer, layout artist, designer, editor, producer and community manager.

"I was always fascinated by music and attracted by Hard Rock, thanks to my father, and by Hip-Hop thanks to my friends. I always refused to study music theory or conservatory, simply because I was not interested in it, at the time I only thought about playing soccer, playing with my friends and especially drawing. 

I could test the sound of a guitar (borrowed) only in Seconde, by learning, thanks to Youtube tutorials, some basic riffs (Come as you are, Seven Nation Army, Hell's Bells, Can't Stop, J'ai demandé à la lune), without trying to go further. Then I quickly started to improvise music with the few chords I knew, and I moved on to composing, recorded with a basic mp3.

I bought my first electric guitar (Fender's Squire) soon after, and I could start to write songs that corresponded to me more, rock oriented. My musician friend advised me to post my "creations" on Bandcamp. And that's when it really started, I got better and better, I was always creating, adding text, so that the content was less empty, and because I love writing and rapping.

There followed a succession of equipment purchases and musical experimentations of all styles."

About The Name

"The Unbelievable Ginger. As a human with red hair, I find it interesting and important to keep my "original" identity rather than creating a character. Ginger was the first name chosen. Then seeing the number of "Ginger" existing in the music world, it would be interesting to overdo it by assuming 100% this "difference", by adding the "Unbelievable". No modesty here ahah."

Anecdotes

"I don't (yet) do any stage, tour or live performances, so the anecdotes are not yet enriched! The only one I can mention is my stage name. Originally it was Ginger, and the first EP I made was called "Unbelievable Sound Maker". But after thinking about it and listening again to what I had produced, I found the name slightly abusive (recording with an mp3 microphone, I remind you!). So I took back the term to include it in the name, which was a good fit given my versatile nature (composition, writing, interpretation, drawing, covers, mixing, publishing, promo... I do too much, right?)"
