His Story

“I am a solo-vocalist and I play the guitar since I was a boy. When I was young, I had piano lessons too, but I don’t really play it, though it helped me a lot with my songwriting skills and with creating sample-/orchestra-parts for my songs. I am also singing in the band EnemyMAN. And I was the singer in Child On Fire as well as the guitarist in [negat1ve one] (we split up because of not having enough time to write more songs – family, work and so on). And I write songs for some very talented artists, who will release their songs during the year. It is planned that I will manage them. also. About The Name

“My stage name is määcs. It is a nickname that my best friends gave me years ago. Because I liked it very much, I kept it.”

Musical Influences

“Where to start. Of course, rock and metal artists have influenced my early career on stage. I.e. Slipknot, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Sevendust, Staind and Metallica. But I also listened a lot to musicians outside of the rock genre. I like Mike Oldfield, Take That, Justin Timberlake, Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish as well as composers like Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams and Howard Shore. The last couple of years scores of video games have fascinated me more and more. That’s why I listen a lot to Bear McReary’s « God of War », Joris de Man’s « Horizon Zero Dawn » and Nathan Whitehead’s « Days Gone » soundtracks. And because I loved to play games like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda as a kid, those soundtracks had a huge impact on me too.”
